The RTP 9 Motor is built from an aluminium housing to reduce weight, increase airflow and therefore keep it cooler for longer so that you can run your press for as long as you need without downtime.
It has a power consumption of 2.2kw and 220v at 60hz.
It weighs 40kg. This makes it a two person job to install.
1) Loosen the 4 supporting nuts and bolts that hold the existing motor in place.
2) Remove the two belts. That connects the motor to the gearbox.
3) Slide the motor out to the right-hand side of the tablet press (if you are looking at it from the front). You may like to have a trolly with a wooden pallet to slide it on to. Be careful when doing this as it is extremely heavy.
4) Remove the pulley wheel from the old motor using a 2 or 3 armed puller and transfer it onto the new motor making sure the key is in place.
5) Reattach the drive belts between the motor and the gearbox. If you are reinstalling your old drive belts it is a good time to check them for damage or wear.
6) Reattach the 4 mounting bolts and nuts and tighten them until they are hand tight.
7) Apply pressure to the left side of the motor while tightening up the bolts. This is a two person job.
Before replacing your motor it is a good idea to check that this is the part that you need to replace. To do this:
1) Loosen the 4 supporting nuts and bolts that hold the existing motor in place.
2) Remove the two belts. That connects the motor to the gearbox.
3) Remove the electrical covering from the motor.
4) Turn on the press and run.
5) If the pulley wheel/motor does not spin but it is getting current to the terminals inside the motor of 220v then turn off the press immediately and replace the motor.
Only do this if you are a qualified electrition. If you are unsure how to do this then please get in contact with our team by clicking here and we will do it for you.
