4 Major Health Benefits of L-Lysine

4 Major Health Benefits of L-Lysine

If you're a fan of the movie Jurassic Park, you may remember something called ‘the lysine contingency,’ which ensured that the dinosaurs couldn't live for long outside the park. The dinosaurs were genetically altered so that they needed L-lysine supplements in order to survive.

Well, guess what - humans need L-lysine, too!

So what exactly is L-lysine? It's an amino acid, one of the organic compounds the human body uses to build new proteins. Because L-lysine is not produced by the body, it is known as an essential amino acid, and must be obtained through a healthy diet, by taking supplements, or both. L-lysine can be found in many different foods, such as red meat, eggs, dairy, nuts, and legumes. But even if your customer already eats a healthy diet, they can still take L-lysine supplements. Especially if they are vegetarian or if they work out a lot, then they should consider these four major health benefits of L-lysine:

Improves Bone Density

You probably already know how important calcium is for the health of bones. But getting the right amount of calcium isn't enough to guarantee bone health. You also need to make sure the calcium gets into your bones and stays there. L-lysine can help with both. First, it helps the bones absorb calcium, which increases bone density with the result that the person using it becomes stronger. Second, L-lysine lowers calcium depletion. That's good news for people suffering from osteoporosis. As a person ages, their bones tend to get weaker due to calcium depletion, especially in later years, and taking L-lysine supplements is a sound precaution to maintaining bone density.

Fights Bad Cholesterol

Your liver manufactures a compound called carnitine that helps to convert fat into energy. To create carnitine, you need two essential amino acids: L-lysine and methionine. L-lysine supplements can ensure that the liver has enough of the compound to properly burn fat. Research studies support the idea that by helping to burn fat, L-lysine lowers the levels of LDL cholesterol in the bloodstream.

Reduces Cold Sores

Cold sores are caused by the herpes simplex virus. In one research study at Northwestern University, people who took L-lysine supplements had 2.4 fewer outbreaks per year than people who did not take L-lysine. A study at the Southern California University of Health Sciences also found L-lysine to be an effective treatment in 87 percent of subjects who suffered from cold sores. And it turns out that L-lysine can also help with pain relief and healing.

Lowers Stress Levels

Low levels of L-lysine may cause anxiety, due to reduced levels of the neurotransmitter serotonin. L-lysine supplements can bring serotonin levels back up, and ease stress. One study looked at 93 Syrian families whose grain-based diet was low in L-lysine. Fortifying their diet with L-lysine reduced levels of cortisol, a steroid hormone that causes stress.

L-lysine is generally considered safe, but if you're customers are on prescription medications, ask them to consult their doctor to ask if it's a good idea to take additional supplements.

With the right type of tablet press L-lysine can be easy to manufacture. If you want to start manufacturing supplements such as L-lysine then please get in contact.

Researchers continue to investigate the health benefits of L-lysine, learning more each year about this amazing amino acid. By increasing bone density, managing cholesterol, minimizing cold sores, and reducing stress levels, L-lysine can improve your customers overall health and enjoyment of life.

Binders are chemical compounds that have an adhesive property. They bind the drug and excipient together and provide it with extra strength. Binders can also form intergranular bonds that fuse together and form a binder bridge between granules adhering to each other. The bridges may result from the melting or softening of the binder during the compression process.

Hygrometer And Its Importance in Pharmaceutical Manufacturing

Hygrometers are important devices in the pharmaceutical world as it measures the relative humidity of the atmosphere, which can affect the products during the manufacturing process. The device includes two thermometer – the dry and the wet bulb. The dry bulb remains dry while a cotton wick that is dipped in water surrounds the wet bulb. In the measurement of humidity, the wet bulb plays an important role.
